Hello world! I'm Damiaan Luc, the founder and principal contributing artist to Augment Records, a new digital music label and platform for unconventional and amateur musicians. My intention for this platform is to provide a space for musical projects that exist outside of the sphere of the major label industry, including my own. Music production is now cheaper and easier than ever before and I'm thrilled to see many people who lack formal musical education getting involved in producing their own music. Speaking personally, I've witnessed many friends and contacts in my life engage with and produce music regardless of their level of expertise, and in doing so, create things of tremendous value which have enriched my life and have the potential to do so for others. This platform will therefore not only serve to catalogue my own musical projects, but those of my friends and associates who want to take the step to publish their material. In addition to publishing music, this blog will serve as something of a personal diary, wherein I may pen a variety of thoughts pertaining not only to music in a direct sense, but also to aesthetics and the theory of art and music in general. I also intend to feature music reviews, exclusively positive in nature, to promote underappreciated and experimental music that deserves to be heard, but which tragically passes many people by.
